Auckland Zoo

Auckland Zoo (16.35 ha) is near Western Springs Park and 18 min/15.8 km from conference center by car. Managed by Auckland Council with support from Zoological Society of Auckland. Auckland Zoo is home to at least 144 different species, over 1400 animals and has the largest diversity of wildlife in NZ.

SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium

SealLife Kelly Tarlton's (public aquarium) is located at 23 Tamaki Drive, a 21 min/11.2 km drive from the conference center. The aquarium showcases a variety of marine life, including penguins, sea turtles, rays, and various species of fish, in a unique and immersive environment.

Panmure Basin Walk

Starting from the front of Wapiuna Conference Centre, a 35-minute, 3 km walk around the basin awaits, perfect for families. With wide, sealed paths that are stroller-friendly and ideal for kids' scooters, the mostly flat terrain features only a few small hills.

Sylvia Park Mall

Close to the Waipuna Conference Center.

An easy 14 minute (1.1 Km) walk to the Sylvia Park shopping mall and restaurants. With more than 200 stores, more than 4000 carparks and a full bus and rail service, Sylvia Park is a leading edge shopping centre.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum

The Auckland War Memorial Museum, just a 12 min/11.9 km drive from the conference center, is a renowned museum and war memorial in New Zealand. It showcases collections focusing on New Zealand history, natural history, and military history. General Admission entrance is FREE for Auckland residents and Members, or by donation for those from the rest of New Zealand

Howick Historical Village

Howick Historical Village, a living museum located in Pakuranga, Auckland, New Zealand, is just an 8-minute drive (5.6 km) from the conference center. This re-creation of a New Zealand colonial village features surviving buildings sourced from the local area.

Auckland Sky Tower

Auckland Sky Tower, just a 16-minute drive (13.3 km) from the conference center, is a 328-meter (1,076 ft) tall tower and the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere (28th tallest in the world). Its height and design have made it a renowned and iconic landmark in Auckland's skyline.

Maungarei/Mt Wellington Volanic Cone Walk

Maungarei/Mt Wellington, an active volcano in Tāmaki Makaurau, is just a 60-minute walk (3.8 km) from the Panmure Bus Station. With a nearly circular base and three overlapping craters, one of which is now a water reservoir, this 10,000-year-old volcano boasts lava that flowed towards Ellerslie and Penrose and helped form the nearby Waiatarua Reserve wetlands.
